Market Street wants to help keep you and your family healthy during this cold and flu season, so we’ve compiled a list of a few helpful tips to remember when you’re out and about:
- Wash Your Hands – The most common way cold and flu viruses are spread is through direct contact. You can pick up germs from contaminated surfaces, like computer keyboards, telephones, desks, drinking glasses and more. Be sure to wash your hands frequently with warm water and soap or rub an alcohol-based hand sanitizer onto your hands to keep them germ-free.
- Drink Plenty of Fluids – Water flushes out your system and rehydrates you. A healthy adult should drink eight 8-ounce glasses of fluids each day.
- Boost Your Immune System – Staying healthy is more than just avoiding germs. To help boost your immune system you should get plenty of rest, eat a well-balanced diet, exercise regularly, decrease stress, don’t smoke, cut alcohol consumption and try to relax.
